About the project

RSAI supported the review and validation of Liberia’s Vehicle and Traffic Law, addressing gaps between the 1972 law and contemporary road safety, vehicle and mobility needs.

The assignment combined legal and technical review with national consultation. Its purpose was to prepare a stronger legislative foundation for enforcement, education and institutional coordination.

Scope of work

Review legal gaps and benchmark the draft against regional and international practice.
Address speeding, drink-driving, helmets, seat belts and child restraints.
Facilitate dialogue with ministries, police, transport unions and civil society.
Prepare a revised draft and policy materials for executive and legislative consideration.
