About the project
Public institution drivers carry responsibility for the safety of officials, staff, patients, goods and communities. RSAI’s Public Institution Driver Training programme equips these drivers with practical knowledge and the habits needed for safer daily operations.
Training combines classroom learning, practical demonstrations, assessment and follow-up. Participating institutions listed in RSAI’s portfolio include the Ministries of Health, Public Works, Agriculture and Education, NASSCORP, LRA, LERC and RREA.
Scope of work
- Defensive driving, hazard perception and protection of vulnerable road users.
- Pre-trip vehicle inspection, basic maintenance and journey management.
- Traffic rules, fatigue and substance-risk awareness.
- First-response awareness, assessments and participant certification.

Documented outputs and progress
- More than 600 public institution drivers certified across at least 12 workshops in the documented training cycles.
- Training presentations and learning resources developed for public-sector fleets.
- Post-training assessments and institutional feedback to support improvements in driver practice.
Training participation and certification are documented outputs. No quantified reduction in crashes is claimed.
